Flight Training Courses
Discovery Flights and Continuing Education for Rated Pilots

 Discovery Flights
We fly most of our introductory flights in our restored 1946 Cessna 140, a two-seat tailwheel trainer. Your flight experience will include an academic lesson on aerodynamics and aircraft control, followed by approximately 45 minutes of flying time with a certificated flight instructor. You will be shown basic airplane flying techniques and fly the aircraft as much as you would like, putting the ground-lesson materials into practice.

Flights starting at $249
Tailwheel Endorsements
Mastering a tailwheel aircraft demands precise "stick and rudder" control and coordination, which will significantly improve your overall flying skills, especially in areas like taxiing and landing. A tailwheel endorsement will open doors to adventure, through access to most of the STOL family of aircraft and warbirds.

The Cessna 140 is a great tailwheel trainer, with light, but responsive controls and a good field-of-view over the nose. Tailwheel endorsements usually take 5-10 hours over 4-6 flights for a current and proficient light-airplane pilot. You'll practice and become confident in ground handling, three-point and wheel-landings, and crosswind procedures.

Also available: CFI Spin Endorsements

Seaplane Ratings
Add a Single-Engine Seaplane (SES) rating to your Private or Commercial pilot certificate and become a proficient, competent seaplane pilot in a true workhorse: a 300-horsepower Cessna A185F on PK3050A amphibious floats!
Our comprehensive 10-hour training course will enable you to become proficient in both land and water operations, to include beaching, mooring, docking, all takeoff and landing techniques required to safely operate a high-performance, complex seaplane.

The course is intended to be scheduled over at least three full days (usually Friday - Sunday). DPE availability is a major factor in our availability, with most Practical Tests being conducted on Sunday.
SES Add-On Course: $6,500 and includes ground instruction, 10.0 hours of aircraft use, instructor fees, and fuel. The DPE fee is not included and is paid directly to the DPE at the practical test.
